Several Dogs Needing Rescue at Cobb County Animal Services in Marietta, GA
15805 Spencer in kennel 203
Spencer came to the shelter on December 20thbecause his owner sadly passed away. Unsurprisingly, Spencer is stressed with all these sudden changes in his life. He has been a little snippy while being examined and when staff has tried to handle him. Overall, he is a sweet boy, but with his history, we think he is best suited for a rescue who can work with him before he goes to his forever home!
Spencer is 6 years old, weighs 30 pounds, intact, heartworm negative, and up to date on DHPP and Bordetella vaccines. He is currently taking medication for anxiety and is nearing the end of treatment for an upper respiratory infection. He also has a growth on his head that will need to be removed and tested.
15764 Astro in kennel 19
Astro came to us on December 18th because her owner had an emergency situation. Sadly, Astro is still here! She is currently available for adoption, but she does have a few concerns that would probably be best suited for a rescue. She is intact, and we consider her a senior at 8 years old, which means CCAS cannot spay her. Additionally, she has a mammary mass, moderate dental disease, and some skin issues due to a flea allergy. Our volunteers say she is a sweet, playful teddy bear, who likes to jog, so she’s still quite active for being a senior!
Astro is 8 years old, weighs 45 pounds, is intact, heartworm negative, and up to date on DHPP and Bordetella vaccines.
7197 Poppy in kennel 201
Poppy came to us on Christmas Eve because her family had an emergency, and unfortunately, they could not come back for her. Overall, Poppy is a sweet girl, but she does have one issue: she HATES leashes. When staff try to leash her, she does not react well and becomes defensive. So, Poppy will need a little bit of training before she goes into her forever home!
Poppy is 8 years old, weighs around 25 pounds, is spayed, heartworm negative, and up to date on DHPP and Bordetella vaccines.
