Marshmallow is a perfect name for this precious boy. Frankly, I don’t know why we don’t leave them in the homeless camp and just update their vaccinations, gift preventatives, etc. My heart says it’s better than him dying in a county shelter — or dealing with that stress.
Sadly, this is where we’re at in Georgia. What sentence is worse than death? Is it living in a homeless camp? Probably not. :-(
At any rate, this poor, sensitive guy will not thrive in a shelter (aka dog jail)… he needs out. If there are any fosters out there, we could certainly work on placing him. We just can’t say how long that might take. :-/

| | This sweet, but scared pup is Marshmallow. He was picked up at a homeless camp on 4/5. When first got here he was terrified. He shook and trembled with his tail tucked, never showed any aggression though. The vet staff started him on anxiety meds and he is still scared but doing much better. He wags his tail, lets you pet him, and goes in and out of his cage well. He is probably confused, used to living in a very different environment. Although he was not contained and his owner was not around when Animal Control picked him up, he seems well taken care of. Today an ACO took him outside and he did great. He wasn’t an expert on the leash, but that just needs practice. Outside he was sweet, happy, and seemed to want to play when he saw other dogs. He is already neutered and heartworm negative. We’re not sure of his age but he weighs 56lbs.
