Pixel 8865 and Glitch 8866 – Days in Shelter 190
Sisters Pixel and Glitch have spent half of their lives here at the shelter. They came to us in March and had to stay here for an investigation. Both girls had to gain weight and our vet had to make sure they were cleared for adoption. They started going to adoption events on September 6th but haven’t been chosen for their forever homes yet. Our volunteers say they are sweet, energetic, and playful. Their high energy level makes sense since they spent most of their puppyhood in the shelter. They’re both still intact (they should be getting spayed within the next week) and they’re both heartworm negative. Come see them in kennel 21!
11853 Lilith 879 Days in Shelter – 76
This incredible girl has been at the shelter for way too long! She came to us on July 12th as a stray. The family that found her said she walked up to their house one day, looking for a place to rest. She was good with their children, so they kept her for a few days while they looked for her owner. No one claimed her, so she was brought to the shelter. Since then, our volunteers have rated her 5 stars (yes, really – one of them wrote exactly that on her volunteer comments kennel card!) and say she is a pro at walking attentively on-leash and she loves back scratches and playing fetch. Let’s get this Lil’ lady out of here ASAP! She’s around 2-years-old, spayed, and heartworm negative. This 5-star girl is shining in kennel 879.
11961 Yumi – Days in Shelter 73
Yumi was playing at a park by herself on July 15th until someone found her and brought her to the shelter. They took her home briefly and think she might be housebroken! For some reason, this cutie has been overlooked at the shelter and at an offsite adoption event. Per our volunteers, she can be a little high energy at first on their walks, but then she calms down and walks very nicely on the leash. She knows some basic commands, too! She had an upper respiratory infection recently, but it appears to have cleared up nicely. She’s around 2 years old, intact, and heartworm negative.
11967 Carmela – Days in Shelter 73
Carmela has been at the shelter since July 15th, and while this is her first time on the long-timer list, she may look familiar. Shortly after she arrived here, she had 6 puppies, so we sent out some emails to see if anyone could take in this sweet family. Her babies grew up in the shelter, and all of them have been adopted, leaving mom behind, alone. Carmela deserves a life outside of the shelter, too. She is such a pretty girl, and she loves getting brushed when out on a walk. She isn’t spayed yet, but she is heartworm negative. She’s around two years old and waiting for you in kennel 805.
12481 Kayla – Days in Shelter 54
This brindle beauty is Kayla! She snuck into someone’s backyard through a broken section of fence on August 3rd. They thought about keeping her, but decided it was best to give us a call. Since coming to the shelter, Kayla has been spayed and has received her Rabies vaccine for the year. Our volunteers think she is extremely sweet and is very well-behaved on her walks. Come see for yourself! She is approximately a year old and in kennel 835.
12565 Chip – Days in Shelter 51
Chip is a volunteer fave! This handsome guy was running loose on August 6th and jumped right up into someone’s truck when they stopped for him. Chip also jumped straight up onto the front desk counter at the shelter when he first got here, so we can say confidently that he likes to jump and can jump pretty high. He has attended a couple adoption events, and was even pet of the week last week, but he has sadly been overlooked! Come and get Chip out of the shelter, and he’ll probably jump for joy. He is neutered, heartworm negative, up to date on his vaccines, and in kennel 831.
12606 Satchmo – Days in Shelter 50
Satchmo makes the cut for the long-timer list, but he has only been available for adoption for 20 days. When he came to the shelter on August 7th, he was underweight and had horrible skin issues, so he was kept off the adoption floor. Since then, he has gained the appropriate amount of weight and his skin has improved! He has been neutered and we confirmed a diagnosis of chronic dermatitis via punch biopsy. Satchmo came to us as a stray, so we have very little information about him, but he did come in with another dog. His friend has already been adopted, and now it’s Satchmo’s turn to get out of here. We hope his puppy dog eyes convince you to snatch him up, but in the meantime, he’s hanging out in kennel 303. He is around 7 months old and negative for heartworms.
12673 Checkers – Days in Shelter 48
This poor baby was found tied to a pole in a church parking lot. Luckily, one of our road officers got to him before something worse happened. He has been at the shelter since August 9th and he is so ready to get out of here. Our volunteers say he “comes out of his shell” when he gets outside. Despite weighing 50 pounds, he is reported to think he is a “lap dog”, and we’re not going to tell him otherwise. Volunteers also say he is great on leash and takes treats gently. Checkers is almost 1 year old, he is neutered, heartworm negative, and up to date on his vaccines. If he “checks” all your boxes, come see him in kennel 23.
