This little Boxer mix is Missy. Missy is about 6yrs and only 29lbs. She was brought to the shelter as a stray 3/4. She was pregnant and ready to pop. The finder had her for about a week and said she is good with kids (toddlers and up). She was not around any dogs but is reported to not like cats or MEN. Nine puppies were born on 3/10. Mama has been a little nervous and stand offish in the shelter environment, but now she is very protective of her babies and showing cage aggression. She has been moved to a quieter area, so hopefully that will help. Outside the kennel she is timid but okay. She will need a quiet, calm, and patient foster home (or other in-between-home). We believe she can be worked with and will be okay once out of this environment. Sadly she is heartworm positive, so she needs a rescue miracle! Please help us get this baby and her babies out safely!!
UPDATE: Missy is doing better. While still protective of the babies, she is fine outside the cage. The little while pup that is suckling in the top picture is not growing. That baby may need some supplementing? He may not survive if not out of the shelter soon.
