Two Small Senior Dogs in Need of Rescue at Cobb County Animal Services in Marietta, GA

This senior Miniature Schnauzer was surrendered a few days ago because he had a bit of an attitude with his family. He doesn’t seem to like being picked up too much and had bitten several people in his family. Most of the time, he is a sweet and friendly dog, but it seems like he wants to be handled (or not handled) on his terms only! With this history, we cannot place him up for adoption, so he needs a rescue to come help him.
Rodie is 8 years old, neutered, heartworm negative, and up to date on the DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines. He weighs around 15 pounds.

Queso the senior Shih Tzu came to us on February 15th as a stray. He was hanging out in someone’s back yard, wanting to play with their dogs and cat. They noted he was coughing a lot, so they brought him to us to get checked out. Queso was quickly diagnosed with and started treatment for an upper respiratory infection. During his exam, our vet noted that he has a heart murmur, so we think it would be best for him to be placed with a rescue who can give him the care he needs.
Queso is 7 years old, intact, heartworm negative, and up to date on the DHPP and Bordetella vaccines. Because of the heart murmur and his age, Queso can’t be neutered here. He weighs around 17 pounds.
