Update: She is super friendly!
PREGNANT DOG LIVING BEHIND ABANDONED FOOD LION GROCERY STORE.
ANIMAL CONTROL WILL BE CALLED!!
This is desperate! We all know that if she goes into Animal Control she is not coming out & neither are her babies!
Lauren did find a rescue that is willing to sponsor all the vetting for the mama and puppies, but she still needs a rescue to place them or a foster who will take the mama in and let her have her puppies and care for them until they are weaned and adoptable.
This poor dog is living behind an abandoned Food Lion grocery store on Lawrenceville-Suwannee Road & Riverside Parkway in Lawrenceville.
She is being fed and has a nice hidden place and is rather safe. She is pregnant though and really needs a safe place to have her babies. She looks like a pit/boxer mix and is smaller in size, maybe 35 pounds. Lauren went back there today after going to meet the dog yesterday and the dog climbed in her lap and started kissing her. Yesterday she barked at them and was timid but today she remembered them and loved on them. She is very friendly, sweet & submissive. She has been there since Tuesday.
The problem still is that they have no place for her to go. They will gladly bring her to who ever can help.
I asked them to hold off on calling Animal Control so we can try and get some help. They have decided to call Animal Control by Wednesday if they don't get any help for her by then.
I am just the messenger.
