The Ten Longest Resident Dogs at Cobb County Animal Services in Marietta, GA
Let’s get these wonderful pups in their forever homes for the holidays!

13287 Cheecho – kennel 878
Cheecho is our current longest resident at 109 days! Now, he hasn’t been
available for adoption this whole time; he was on a police hold until
November 18th, so he has only been on the adoption floor for a month,
but it’s time he gets out of the shelter! Our volunteers say he is a gentleman
that walks very well on leash and knows a few tricks, too. The person that
found him at the end of August said he was good with their small dogs and
seemed to be potty trained.
Cheecho’s Stats:

14171 Chico – kennel 855
CCAS Volunteers think Chico is “fab-u-lous!” This sweet boy was
surrendered on October 5th. He’s reported to be good with kids, but
we don’t have much more info on his past. His previous owner didn’t
have him for too long before needing to bring Chico to us. Chico has
been struggling with some skin issues since coming to the shelter,
including ear infections in both ears and some areas of furunculosis.
He has been receiving treatment, and his issues have mostly resolved!
Volunteers say he’s a “good running buddy” but does need to work on his
leash skills!
Chico’s Stats:

14251 Gilbert – kennel 19
Gilbert was lost on Dallas Highway on October 8th and a Good Samaritan
stopped to help him. They brought him right to the shelter, but they had
him long enough to know he was good with their two-year-old child! Gil has
attended several adoption events and has even been “pet of the week”, but
he has sadly been overlooked so far. Our volunteers say he is very sweet
and friendly, he knows “sit,” and walks well on leash.
Gilbert’s Stats:

14352 / 14353 Giggles & Smiley in kennel 879
On October 12th, these cute boys were found in the dog park at an apartment
complex. No one claimed them, so they came to us. They were timid and shy
when they first came here but have since come out of their shells! Volunteers
think they are sweet boys who are possibly housetrained. They love exploring
together outside but do need to work on their manners when it comes to treats.
Giggles and Smiley’s Stats:
Both are:

14393 Joy in kennel 851
On October 15th, Joy came to us as a stray, and no one came to reclaim her,
but that didn’t keep Joy down! Our volunteers think Joy is a super sweet and
friendly girl. They say she knows a few commands, including sit, down, and
shake/paw. Joy’s volunteer comments card is covered in doodled hearts and
even has some smiley face stickers on it; proof of how much she means to the
people that care for her.
Joy’s Stats:

14399 Padme in kennel 806
A long time ago (October) in a galaxy far, far away (Marietta), Padme
and her son Luke were found wandering in a neighborhood and were brought
to the shelter on October 16th. Luke was about five months old at that point.
He was adopted in November, leaving his mom behind. Padme is loved
by our volunteers! They say she is a good running buddy, and she loves
chasing balls in the off-leash area. She knows how to sit on command and
take treats nicely. Let’s get her a forever home fit for a queen!
Padme’s Stats:

14572 Ellen in kennel 18
Ellen’s story begins similarly to a lot of other dogs here: she was wandering a
neighborhood, no one there claimed her, so she came to the shelter. We’re hoping
Ellen’s next chapter includes her forever home! Our volunteers say she is a well-behaved lady
who walks nicely on leash, takes treats gently, and is learning how to sit on command.
She loves running around the off-leash area and playing fetch!
Ellen’s Stats:

14606 Jersey Girl in kennel 16
Jersey Girl is a wonderful girl! Someone found her wandering around a church
and took her in for a few days before bringing her to us. The finder said Jersey Girl
was good with their two dogs and seemed to be housebroken. They also said she
knows a lot of commands and was “retrieving” household items and giving them
to the finder. Our volunteers have a lot to say about Jersey Girl. Her volunteer
comment card is filled with things like, “love bug,” “such an amazing girl,” and “very polite and sweet.”
Jersey Girl’s Stats:

14671 Autumn in kennel 48
Autumn was picked up by one of our road officers on October 25th. She had
been hanging out in a neighborhood for a couple of days, and no one claimed her.
Her collar was way too tight for her, so she may have been loose for quite some time.
Autumn is hoping someone falls in love with her, because she has a lot of love to give.
Volunteers say she loves hugs and cuddles and belly rubs.
