Longest Resident Dogs at Cobb County Animal Services in Marietta, GA

All of these pups have been here for more than 60 days!

18679 Joao in kennel 849

Intake Date: 5/1/26

Intake Type: Stray

<image001.jpg>

This handsome boy was loose in a neighborhood on 5/1 and was rescued by one of our road officers. Our volunteers think Joao is a wonderful dog!  He'll need an active family who can keep up with him and provide him with structure. Joao is intelligent but can be stubborn! He is very playful and will most of the time respond to commands he knows.

18745 Vincent in kennel 882

Intake Date: 5/5/26

Intake Type: Stray

<image002.jpg>

This adorable pup arrived at the shelter on 5/5 with his best friend, Jules. Both boys were severely underweight when they arrived, but thanks to the care of the shelter staff, they are healthy! Jules has been adopted, so now it’s Vincent’s turn. Volunteers describe Vincent as curious, affectionate, and playful. He already knows how to sit on command and walks nicely on a leash for such a young dog. Vincent is looking for a family that will continue to help him learn and grow.

18803 Mel in kennel 876

Intake Date: 5/6/26

Intake Type: Surrender

<image003.jpg>

We don’t know much about Mel’s history because it’s a little complicated. She was rehomed and ended up at another county’s animal shelter, then reclaimed by her original owner who brought her here. This owner didn’t have any current information about her, unfortunately. Our volunteers think Mel is a very good girl that is eager to learn new skills, especially if there are treats involved.

18808 Jade in kennel 811

Intake Date: 5/7/26

Intake Type: Surrender

<image004.jpg>

This poor mama was surrendered with her boys Jake and Jack-Jack because their owner could not take care of them any longer. Her boys have been adopted already, leaving mom here long enough to become a long timer. Jade is reported to be good with other dogs and with kids, as well as housebroken and crate trained. She is very treat-motivated and will learn new skills very quickly.

19141 Thor in kennel 858

Intake Date: 5/20/26

Intake Type: Stray

<image005.jpg>

Thor is sweet, playful, and very nice to be around. He already knows sit and lay down, which is a wonderful foundation for a two-year-old dog, and speaks to how eager he is to connect and communicate with the people around him. On leash he pulls with some enthusiasm — but anyone who has ever watched a dog burst through a door toward fresh air and open space knows exactly what that is. For a dog who spends most of his day cooped up in a kennel, the excitement of getting outside is completely understandable. At two years old Thor is stepping into his prime — past the most unpredictable puppy moments and fully grown into the handsome, good-natured dog he is today. He has energy, he has heart, and he has the kind of easygoing sweetness that makes a dog a true companion and not just a pet.

19198 Knight in kennel 832

Intake Date: 5/22/26

Intake Type: Surrender

<image006.jpg>

Knight is truly a fabulous boy. He’s perfect in every way! Knight is smart, knows basic commands, and is house trained. He gets along with kids and is very quiet in his kennel. His family was going through a very difficult time and sadly, had to surrender him.
