5 Longest Resident Dogs at Cobb County Animal Services in Marietta, GA

13287 Cheecho – kennel 878
Cheecho is our current longest resident at over 100 days! Now, he hasn’t been available for
adoption this whole time; he was on a police hold until November 18th, so he hasn’t
been on the adoption floor long, but it’s time he gets out of the shelter!
Our volunteers say he is a gentleman that walks very well on leash and knows a few tricks, too.
The person that found him at the end of August said he was good with their small dogs and seemed to be potty trained.
Cheecho’s Stats:
• 6 years old
• Neutered
• Heartworm negative
• Up to date on DHPP and Bordetella vaccines
• 42 pounds at last weigh in
• 100 days in shelter

10175 Estella – kennel 882
Estella has been here for 88 days! She wasn’t in great shape when she first came in.
She was underweight and had pyoderma, but she now is at a healthy weight and the
pyoderma has resolved. Our volunteers say she is a sweet, happy girl that loves playing with tennis balls!
Estella’s Stats:
• 2.5 years old
• Intact
• Heartworm negative
• Up to date on DHPP and Bordetella vaccines
• 65 pounds at last weigh in
• 88 days in shelter

13775 Rylo – kennel 881
“BALL IS LIFE,” reads Rylo’s volunteer comment card. This sweet guy needs an
active family to keep up with his love of playing fetch. He may be energetic, but he is
gentle and walks nicely on leash! Rylo came to us as a stray on September 19th after he
was lucky enough to be found by a dog groomer. He got a warm bath and a good brushing and
stayed the night at the groomer’s house. His finder/groomer said that he’s crate and potty trained,
food motivated and knows basic commands. All around, Rylo is an awesome dog, and we don’t
understand why he hasn’t been adopted yet!
Rylo’s Stats:
• 5 years old
• Neutered
• Heartworm negative
• Up to date on DHPP, Rabies, and Bordetella vaccines
• 62 pounds at last weigh in
• 83 days in shelter

13971 Otis – kennel 47
Otis was a lost boy on September 27th. A nice family was out walking their dog, and they
came across Otis! He jumped right in their car with them, and they brought him here. Otis
had a microchip but sadly, his previous family had moved to another state since rehoming him,
and his current family didn’t come to claim him. One very important thing you should know about
Otis is he is NOT cat friendly! Volunteers say Otis is very easy to walk and is calm when passing by other dogs.
Otis’s Stats:
• 7.5 years old
• Neutered
• Heartworm negative
• Up to date on DHPP and Bordetella vaccines
• 56 pounds at last weigh in
• 75 days in shelter

14171 Chico – kennel 855
CCAS Volunteers think Chico is “fab-u-lous!” This sweet boy was surrendered on
October 5th. He’s reported to be good with kids, but we don’t have much more info on his past.
His previous owner didn’t have him for too long before needing to bring Chico to us. Chico has
been struggling with some skin issues since coming to the shelter, including ear infections in
both ears and some areas of furunculosis. He has been receiving treatment, and his issues have
mostly resolved! Volunteers say he’s a “good running buddy” but does need to work on his leash skills!
Chico’s Stats:
• 8 years old
• Intact, and too old for us to neuter here
• Heartworm negative
• Up to date on DHPP and Bordetella vaccines
• 67 days in shelter
• 68 pounds at last weigh in
