14171 Chico – kennel 855

CCAS Volunteers think Chico, our current longest resident, is “fab-u-lous!” This sweet boy was surrendered on October 5th. He’s reported to be good with kids, but we don’t have much more info on his past. His previous owner didn’t have him for too long before needing to bring Chico to us. Chico has been struggling with some skin issues since coming to the shelter, including ear infections in both ears and some areas of furunculosis. He has been receiving treatment, and his issues have mostly resolved! Volunteers say he’s a “good running buddy” but does need to work on his leash skills!

Chico’s Stats:

8 years old
Intact, and too old for us to neuter here
Heartworm negative
Up to date on DHPP and Bordetella vaccines
68 pounds at last weigh in
88 days in shelter

14399 Padme in kennel 806

A long time ago (October) in a galaxy far, far away (Marietta), Padme and her son Luke were found wandering in a neighborhood and were brought to the shelter on October 16th. Luke was about five months old at that point. He was adopted in November, leaving his mom behind. Padme is loved by our volunteers! They say she is a good running buddy, and she loves chasing balls in the off-leash area. She knows how to sit on command and take treats nicely. Let’s get her a forever home fit for a queen!

Padme’s Stats:

3 years old
Intact
Heartworm negative
Up to date on DHPP and Bordetella vaccines
50 pounds at last weigh in
78 days in shelter

14722 Brandi in kennel 828

Brandi came to the shelter on October 29th, but she was a stray for a few weeks before that! The person that took her in said they got in contact with Brandi’s previous owner, but they said they had rehomed her and didn’t have her new owner’s information. Brandi’s finder says that she was good with their kids but was very high energy with them! That definitely lines up with what our volunteers have noted: they say Brandi is a “peppy puppy” who “loves to zoom!”

Brandi’s Stats:

2.5 years old
Spayed
Heartworm negative
Up to date on DHPP and Bordetella vaccines
40 pounds at last weigh in
64 days in shelter

14754 Kingston in kennel 27

Kingston was surrendered by his owner on October 30th because he had a bad habit of escaping his yard. Since he was an outside dog, his owner says he is not potty or crate trained, but luckily, he is great with other dogs and with kids! Kingston is an affectionate and playful boy. He loves being pet and his favorite games are fetch and tug of war. Volunteers say Kingston is full of joy, so he will surely fill your life with joy, too.

Kingston’s Stats:

1 year, 8 months old
Neutered
Heartworm negative
Up to date on DHPP and Bordetella vaccines
56 pounds at last weigh in
63 days in shelter

14931 Henrietta in kennel 49

On November 7th, Henrietta was a lost girl. A nice police officer stopped and took her in, and one of our road officers came to get her. Henrietta has a microchip, but her owner has not been able to come reclaim her due to living circumstances. We’re sad that Henrietta and her family haven’t been reunited, and we hope Henrietta’s story continues outside of the shelter very soon. Our volunteers say Henrietta is the “best dog ever!” They report she appears to be house broken, and she knows some tricks and commands. She’s very good at the “chasing” part of fetch but is still working on the “retrieving” part.

Henrietta’s Stats:

8 years old
Spayed
Heartworm negative
Up to date on DHPP and Bordetella vaccines
71 pounds at last weigh in
55 days in shelter

14973 Biloxi in kennel 801

Biloxi came to us as a stray on November 9th. The person that found him brought him to us shortly after finding him, so they weren’t able to provide much insight into his behavior outside of the shelter. From what we have seen here, he is a super sweet, gentle guy, and our volunteers say he has been good near other dogs!

Biloxi’s Stats:

3 years old
Neutered
Heartworm negative
Up to date on DHPP and Bordetella vaccines
59 pounds at last weigh in
54 days in shelter

15003 Rory 807

On November 10th, Rory came to our shelter as a stray. He has a microchip, but his owners did not want to reclaim him. Our volunteers have declared Rory a certified “Good Dog” and say he is very sweet.

Rory’s Stats:

3 years old
Neutered
Heartworm negative
Up to date on DHPP and Bordetella vaccines
58 pounds at last weigh in
52 days in shelter

15075 Anubis in kennel 17

Anubis was taking a (very dangerous) walk near train tracks on November 14th and was saved by a Good Samaritan! They said he ran right up to their car and jumped in when they opened the door. He didn’t stay with them for long as they brought him right to the shelter, so we don’t have any insight into his behavior outside of the shelter, but it’s clear he’s a volunteer favorite. One volunteer wrote on his comment card, “one of the best dogs in the shelter,” and another volunteer replied, “AGREE- THE BEST.”

Anubis’s Stats:

5 years old
Neutered
Heartworm negative
Up to date on DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines
60 pounds at last weigh in
49 days in shelter

15119 Oxie in kennel 800

Poor Oxie was hit by a car not too far from the shelter on November 18th. Luckily, he didn’t get any serious injuries, just some road rash that has healed. Oxie is a calm and well-behaved boy, but he does seem to be a power chewer, so if you take him home, stock up on Kongs! He is heartworm positive, so he will need that taken care of.

Oxie’s Stats:

4 years old
Neutered
Heartworm positive
Up to date on DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines
55 pounds at last weigh in
45 days in shelter
