Three Awesome Dogs for Rescue at Cobb County Animal Services in Marietta, GA

All three of these babies are available for adoption, but might be better suited for rescue before going to their forever homes!

Ike

ID# 19772 in kennel 51

This handsome older gentleman was brought to the shelter as a stray on June 9th. His family did not come to reclaim him, so here he waits, hoping he gets his forever home. Our volunteers say he is gentle boy that enjoys leisurely sniff walks. Ike does have a few medical conditions that will need further attention once he leaves the shelter. Our vet is treating him for Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca (dry eye) in both eyes. He has a perineal mass and dental disease as well.

Ike is:

12 years old

Intact, and too old to be neutered here at the shelter

Heartworm negative

Up to date on DHPP and Bordetella vaccines

Around 60 pounds

Molly

ID# 19998 in kennel 85

Meet Molly! This sweet little girl came to us on June 14th as a stray. We quickly noticed she was limping, so our vet performed x-rays. Molly’s front right leg had been fractured at some point but has healed quite a bit. She has even stopped limping since coming here! X-rays can be sent to interested rescues, but here’s the vet’s analysis:

Xrays: lat and VD right fore: Fracture of proximal radius with minimal displacement laterally and mild displacement DV has bony callus formation.

Dx: Right fractured radius - healing

Molly is:

1 year old

Intact

Heartworm negative

Up to date on DHPP and Bordetella vaccines

Around 42 pounds

Chungas

ID# 20020 in kennel 87

Chungas was surrendered by her owners on June 16th because of financial difficulties. She’s reported to be good with dogs and kids as well as housebroken and crate trained. Our volunteers say Chungas is very sweet and great on leash. She enjoys playing and knows some basic commands, like sit.

Her back left paw has an old injury. X-rays are available to interested rescues, but here’s what the vet said about the results:

*Radiograph Interpretation*

Radiographs of the left lateral tarsus show an old injury involving fractures of the proximal metatarsals and disruption of the tarsometatarsal joint. There is some remodeling and some new bone formation. Along with displacement and malalignment of the joint. The lesions are consistent with a chronic fracture/injury

Chungas is:

1 year old

Spayed

Heartworm negative

Up to date on DHPP, Bordetella, and rabies vaccines

Around 56 pounds
