Meet Spartica!
Spartica is 4-5yrs old, 22lbs, and spayed. She was brought to the shelter 2/25 as a stray. She was nervous when she first got here and nipped a staff member on their finger while trying to leash her. She has settled in since then and is doing better. However, she has shown some resource guarding of food or when another dog is near her toys.
Spartica had a large mass that was removed from her left rear leg. The tumor came back as negative with clear margins. Due to the location and size of the mass the healing has been/is slow. It has already gotten infected once so it will need attentive care, continued bandage changes, and wound care when needed. It doesn’t slow her down at all though. Spartica has not been heartworm tested yet.
