Hey folks,
I really love using Postman with the dark theme. I was trying my hand at the visualizer and all I could see in that tab is a black screen, it took a while for me to realize that it was probably because of the dark theme. Once I changed the theme to the lighter one, I could see all the html elements with their expected styles under the visualizer.
I just wanted to discuss about the user experience. Every user who likes using Postman with the dark theme would have to switch to the lighter theme while visualizing. Is it possible to have the visualizer space with a white background?
In my earlier article, Learning to See for Black and White Photography, we noted that by eliminating color your focus turns to form, lines, shadows, and texture. We also discussed how understanding the effects of color filters as used in the film days could affect a monochrome representation, and how this might aid in previsualization as you approach a subject in the field.
The use of strong foreground elements are a good way to anchor nature photography composition and help create a feeling of depth. While this may be accurate, I think you must be a little more discerning in black and white. In color, the use of an exaggerated foreground component can be very effective, and combined with the element of color can really help in leading the viewer through the image.
As in any composition, distinct patterns can always strengthen a black and white photography composition. This is true whether patterns are the subject themselves or simply a supporting element. As an illustration, look at how the patters are used in the image of the sea stacks along the Bandon, Oregon coast. There are three sea stacks diminishing in size and distance, creating vanishing point type of relationship. Also the lightened surf separated by darker areas of surf also produce a repeating pattern. These patterns, assisted by the diagonal lines created by the clouds contribute to a sense of depth in the image.
Color images, especially those using strong foreground elements, can have quite of few components all tied together with the use of color. It is important to realize though, that in black and white photography this can be distracting. Remember a strong black and white photos relies mostly on shapes, forms, textures, light and shadows. Ask yourself what is the subject; what are you trying to convey. Simplifying is very important in black and white photography compositions. This can be done both in your initial capture and further aided in your post production workflow. While the color image of Upper Falls at Hocking Hills State Park stood well on its own, I wanted to exclude much of the surroundings and lowered their values in post production after converting to black and white. I also worked to contrast the softness of the water against the texture of the sandstone rocks around the falls. Thus, the composition is simple without distracting color elements.

Check the About page in the Vectorworks Cloud Services desktop app, it should be on version 13.4.2742. If not, you should see a button to update. This restarts the app. After this, restart Vectorworks and the AI visualizer should work property.
@TomKen This feature is available with subscription or Vectorworks Service Select licenses. If you are using multiple logins maybe one of the logins is a VSS or subscription license? If not you would need to upgrade to use the feature.
Hello @cberg if the VCS app is shut down during the lifetime of the Vectorworks session you might get issues like that. Does restarting Vectorworks fix it? You can also try right-clicking and choosing the Reload menu item in the palette.
@cberg Next time you can try this, try getting to it from the Model menu AI Visualizer (might have to add to custom workspace, it's under recent changes 2024), there are alerts that will show when Vectorworks thinks certain things are not running or connected.
Ok, I'm jumping through all the hoops. I even realized that I had to add AI to my Workspace, despite the VW site saying it was "automatically adding in SP4." That is not even close to true. OK, so it is now in my menu. I try to use it. It says I have to "Enable this feature with VSS." I have already updated my VCS to 13.4.2742, but now I'm getting this new hoop to jump through called VSS. I clicked my only option: "More Info" which took me to some sort of VSS site which had no information as to how to proceed.
When you guys figure out how to add this feature so that it works in the same way as, say, the rectangle tool, CALL ME. This absurdly useless tool has wasted an hour of my life I will not get back. What a huge disappointment.
@MHBrown Based on your post, it appears that everything is set up for you to begin using this new feature. Please ensure that you are logged into Vectorworks with the license that has Service Select permissions, restart Vectorworks, and give it another try. If you encounter any further issues, let me know jalm...@vectorworks.net, and I'll gladly connect you with one of our Tech Support Specialists for additional troubleshooting. Thanks
At Corian Design, we are always looking for innovative ways to make aesthetics a part of your world. No longer are you bound by the limitations of a static photo or even a small product sample. Our new AR app, Corian Design Visualizer, allows you to check out our colors and aesthetics from every angle, from up close or far away.
Step 3: Stand with your device facing overtop the countertop you wish to resurface. Move your device till red dots cover much of your surface, then tap once on the screen to make a grid appear. This means your surface has been detected. (Note, if your surface is pure white, it is best to place something on the white surface, like a newspaper, etc so the app can more easily detect the surface.)
Step 4: Tap each corner of the surface in a clockwise direction. You can resurface any horizontal shape, including rectangles, L-shapes etc.. Tap and hold markers if you want to adjust them. Look through the color options, and select the one you like.
