The team arrives at the site of a formerly Dutch operated mine, which had been taken over by the Japanese when they occupied the island in 1942, and turned into a bunker. After being ambushed by pirates, the group are forced inside the bunker where they become trapped after one of the pirates tosses a grenade into the mine entrance, wounding Ario and causing a collapse.
Their search leads to some surprising findings; Rie reveals that the bunker was used as a chemical and biological weapons research facility (based on Unit 731) where the Japanese used prisoners of war as subjects for experiments. The group is stalked by the hazmat suit wearing figures as they progress through the mine. The group breaks up into two separate units; Captain Prawa, Sergeant Papa Snake, Price, and Su-Ling go to search for a way out(and, of course, the gold in the process) while Djoko, Stanley and Rie remain behind to protect Ario.
Dead Mine is a dungeon located in El Nath Mts., containing mysterious evil power with undead and legendary monsters. It is still unknown how this mine came to be, all that is known is it contains powerful monsters and at the very end of the mine, the spirit of Zakum awaits.
To reach the Dead Mine, one must be level 60 and have the potential of a Hero, to dare step into the very fear itself, since the player will encounter Yetis, Wolvens and even Zombies who worked in the mine previously and died. Further down there is an entrance to the mine itself, abandoned and dangerous with a magmatic environment. The creatures are crawling with lava and fire based elements in them, before finally reaching the lair of Zakum.
The story resolves around a group of researchers and mercenaries stumbling across an Abandoned Mine, unaware that it was a former Imperial Japanese research lab and disposal facility of horrifying experiments and bioweapons during World War II. Worse yet, these monstrous test subjects still inhabit the mine. The treasure quest turned into a mission of life and death, the team must face these mysterious and deadly enemies.
Dead Mine provides the following tropes:
Dead mine is a horror film that takes the thoroughly overused trope of Nazi medical experiments run amok and tries to spice it up a bit by replacing the Nazis with the Japanese Imperial Army. Although not very original in terms of plot and containing heavily stereotyped characters this film does have some good things going for it.
The interior shots of the mine are well filmed and once they get to the military parts, anyone who is interested in urbex might well enjoy the cinematography. Much of the second act is spent exploring the bunker and it is nice to see a film taking the time to set the scene and develop the atmosphere of the location instead of diving straight into the killing. Once the dwindling group of survivors are running around trying to escape death in the third act, you have a feeling that you know the tunnels they are hurtling around well. Disappointingly much of the action takes place in crudely dug tunnels under the base which the director obviously likes for their claustrophobic atmosphere but which are significantly less interesting to look at.
The Deadmines are expansive, winding tunnels dug out under Westfall and part of northwestern Stranglethorn Vale. It is the lowest-level Alliance instance and is populated by members of the Defias Brotherhood. Its entrance can be accessed in the town of Moonbrook in southwestern Westfall, while its exit is located in the western part of the Dagger Hills near the ocean.
It is said the Deadmines' gold deposits once accounted for a third of Stormwind's treasure reserves. Amid the chaos of the First War, the mines were abandoned and later thought to be haunted, leaving them relatively untouched until the Defias Brotherhood -- a group of former laborers turned brigands -- claimed the labyrinth as a base of operations for its subversive activities against Stormwind.
Prior to the First War, the Deadmines were the greatest gold production center in human lands.[1] It is said the Deadmines' gold deposits once accounted for a third of Stormwind's treasure reserves. The mines also had an abundance of Whitestone oak lumber; it was used in the construction of some of the more important lattices and tools because of its resilience to heat and pressure.[2] However, they were abandoned during the First War. During that time, Sir Anduin Lothar ventured into the perilous Deadmines on a quest to obtain the [Tome of Divinity] but was captured by a band of ogres and held captive for 20 months. He was ultimately rescued and successful in his mission. It was also to the dungeons below the Deadmines that Blackhand's daughter Griselda fled with the ogre Turok. Both were slain by an orcish raid. Many slimes inhabited the dungeons at that time, but they have not been encountered lately.
During his time living there, Edwin cheated the Bloodsail pirate Jerias Bloodvein. Edwin took not only the pirate's money, but also a woman Jerias had fancied. In retaliation, Jerias prepared to invade the Deadmines. Starting from Moonbrook, he and his crew descended down into the mines, killing Rhahk'Zor, Sneed, and Gilnid. All was according to plan until James Blackridge went behind the captain's back to rescue his parents. The two fought, and ultimately James beheaded Jerias. While James, his friends, and his family escaped the mine, the fate of Jerias's crew is unknown.[4]
For a time, the Miners' League was partly in charge of the Deadmines under the direction of Foreman Thistlenettle and Wilder Thistlenettle. However, one day the Defias Brotherhood attacked them during their work and the mine tunnel collapsed. Only Wilder managed to escape, while the rest of the company died and began to roam as restless undead. In Stormwind City, Wilder sent adventurers to find his brother, or at least his badge to give him some peace of mind, which they brought back after he transformed into a ghoul.[5] He also asked them to find their union cards, in order to make sure their families get some resolution from this tragedy.[6]
The Deadmines were later eventually raided again, this time by a group of Alliance soldiers sent by Gryan Stoutmantle. The group battled their way through Ironclad Cove to the juggernaught, where they confronted Edwin VanCleef and his guards. They killed VanCleef and took his head as proof of the deed.[7][8]
After the defeat of the Defias Brotherhood, the Deadmines fell silent. "Captain" Klutz, the last surviving hobgoblin, adopted the animals roaming around the mines as his own. All was quiet until activity was heard coming from inside of it.
A Burkinabe security source who had spoken to a contact at the Karma mine said about 200 unknown attackers had arrived just before dawn. Two other industry sources said the attack was eventually repelled.
For your safety, stay out of mines and do not touch tailings piles. Mines in the park are unstable and may collapse. Not all shafts are closed. Dangerous chemicals and toxic metals can be present in mines and tailings at high concentrations. Do not climb on mining structures.
From the 1880s to the early 1900s, mining was limited and sporadic in the Death Valley region. Many of the early mining districts met with a notable lack of success. Primitive and inefficient technology, scarcity of water and fuel, and the difficulties of transportation made it economically impossible to mine anything but the highest grade ores.
With renewed interest in gold and silver mining, the early 1900s witnessed new mines. Skidoo, Inyo, and Keane Wonder became large-scale operations. The boom towns, including Rhyolite, which sprang up around these mines flourished during the first decade of the 20th century but soon slowed down after the panic of 1907. Prospectors including Shorty Harris and Pete Aguereberry scoured the mountains searching for metals such as gold, silver, antimony, copper, lead, zinc, and tungsten. Prosperous large-scale metal mining in Death Valley ended around 1915 and the once bustling towns which supported them became ghost towns.
