to Urchin Software from Google - help forum - Urchin 5
At our webhosting company we currently have multiple Urchin 5 servers
for the statistics of our customers. We recently acquired an Urchin 7
licence and it can server enough profiles that we want to merge all of
our currently running Urchin 5 profiles in this new Urchin 7 server.
I've been exploring uconf-export combined with uconf2sql, but it seems
that this will completely replace the current Urchin 7 config with
that of an Urchin 5 server. I have 2 questions about this part:
-- Can I leave out the global config when importing a uconf-export
file (I really want to keep the global configuration of the Urchin 7
server) ?
-- Is there another way to merge the Urchin 5 uconf-export files
besides merging them by hand to 1 uconf-export file and importing that
in 1 go ?
After I've managed to import the configuration I think these would be
the steps to import the old data:
-- rsync a profile directory to the new server
-- unzip all the archived reports of the profile
-- use convert-u5data to import the data
Does this sound about right ?
Regards and thanks in advance,
Mark
