final grades

grades have now been posted to cuny first. there seems to be some
trouble with the new system, however, so be patient in your attempts
to access them. they are there!!

I went onto Cuny First and I see a Z letter grade next to the class
grade. I went to check out what that meant and it stated - Z An
instructor has failed to turn in grades for an entire class (Upon
graduation Z grades are converted to F, unless an appeal is made to
USSC).

What exactly is this? Has anyone else received this? Please advise.

as i said, grades are submitted; however, because there is a problem with CUNY First, it appears everyone is seeing a Z by their name.  this should be fixed next week i believe, at which point your actual grade (remember Z is not a grade) will appear.

many of you are confused.  you see a Z next to your name on cuny first, you panic, and you email me asking, "why did you give me a Z in Urban 252?" 

let me ease your minds: Z is not a grade!  none of you received Zs, but mostly very very good grades.  these grades had to be entered in the cuny first system manually, so it will take a minute for them to show up.  until that time, be calm, know that you were a stellar class, and you do not have a Z.  as for financial aid, this should not be a problem.  if you need a document stating your class grade, contact your respective departments a few days into next week, and they should be able to provide that.  otherwise, if you just hang tight, the grades should appear on cuny first this week anyway.

   So I called the URBST department today and they are telling me that the professor needs to submit a change of grade form for all of her classes or else our Z's wont be changed. Has anyone else heard this before? They told me that they tried contacting her numerous times and have gotten no response. Im not sure what to do.

It is from my understanding that even though there is a Z next to our
grade, it is a Cuny First program system error as stated by Prof.
Wakefield. She has already submitted our grades, therefore, we need to
wait it out until Cuny First sorts out the glitches on their end. I
guess we should all stay patient in hopes to see an A+ letter grade,
very very soon! haha

Going to the school isn't going to do anything cause they are saying that she needs to fill put change of grade forms and give them to the registrars office. There is nothing they can/will do until she gives them that. It has something do do with the way she originally entered them.

There has been some miscommunication with regard to the entering of these grades, but as I have said before you do not need to worry about having Zs.  I will fill out the paper forms tomorrow.
