Hi,
I am a student of B.tech (computer science), and I do not have much information
About the topic we are discussing. However, Tran’s boundary water
issues will form the underlying theme for the occasion.
As the city reels under water crisis, environmentalists, citizens'
groups, educational institutes and even hoteliers are coming together
to discuss the ecological, cultural, economic and social importance of
water and the importance of reaching out to people across borders to
resolve a common problem.
People around the world should be encouraged to draw attention to the
challenge of sharing water and opportunities. Increasingly, water
scarcity is becoming a worldwide issue.
There is a consensus among experts that international watercourse
agreements need to be more concrete, setting out measures to enforce
treaties made and incorporating detailed conflict resolution
mechanisms in case disputes erupt. Better cooperation also entails
identifying clear yet flexible water allocations and water quality
standards, taking into account hydrological events, changing basin
dynamics and societal values.
