What are the categories of the competition?
There are 2 categories of the competition
- a) Photography Competition
- b) Videography Competition
Who can participate?
- Any professional or amateur photographer/videographer of all ages can participate in the competition.
Who cannot participate?
- Any submission from current affiliates of The Small Earth Nepal (SEN), staff and members are not accepted in the competition.
Can a foreign national participate in the competition?
- Foreign nationals cannot participate in the competition. However, we welcome their submission which, if found matched to the theme of the competition, will be shared on the social networking sites of the Nepal National Water and Weather Week.
What are the guidelines for – photographs and videos?
- Photographs /videos must be the original works of the photographers.
- Photographs must be in JPG format.
- Any photographs that were submitted to other competition but have not received any awards are accepted in this competition. Any photographs published on any print or online media are not accepted. But, photos shared on the personal social networking sites of the photographer are accepted for this competition.
- All the photographs/videographs must be taken within Nepal. Any submissions taken outside Nepal will not be eligible for the competition.
- Captions for photographs cannot be more than 30 words. Also, mention the place of photo taken and date/year when you took the photo.
- For the Videos, you can submit any raw videos or edited videos that should match the theme of the competition. The duration of the videos should not exceed two minute. To submit the videos, you can either use some file sharing applications or if your video size is higher and getting trouble to attach to the email, you can also visit the office of The Small Earth Nepal, if practicable for you, to leave the video file.
What is the copyright issue of the submissions?
- Copyright to all submitted photographs/videos will remain to the original photographers/videographers. However, Organizers will have the rights of using the submitted photographs for any kind of non-profit making activities of NNWWW with full acknowledgement to the photographer.
Can a person make submission under all categories?
- Yes, a person can participate in the competition under all categories. However, a person can submit maximum of 2 submissions under single categories.

- You are required to mention which category you are applying for in the subject line of your email.
When can I submit?
Competition starts on 21 February 2017 to 14 March 2017 (1700 NST)
How is the winner selected?
Winner of the competition will be selected through an independent selection team of the expert on the relevant field.
What is the award for winner?
There is one award for each category of the competition. The award comprises of NPR 10000/- and appreciation letter. Also, top 10 photographs will be printed and displayed in other functions of the NNWW 2017 where there is higher number of gathering. Similarly, top 3 videos will be screened on the closing ceremony of the NNWW 2017.
