Hello everyone!
Along with best wishes for the New Year, I wanted to send out updates on recent urbanSTEW developments, as well as a general roundup of accomplishments for 2009.
November & December
A big welcome to Robert Esler
I'm very excited to announce that Robert joined the urbanSTEW Board of Directors! As he puts it, he is shovel-ready, and we're all really happy to have him shoveling with us.
Radio Healer accepted to the CHI 2010 Media Showcase
Congratulations to Christopher, Lisa, and Randy for an opportunity to showcase Radio Healer at CHI 2010!
Android apps moving forward
The last two months saw new releases of our Rehearsal Assistant (now over 35,000 downloads), Sound Recorder Widget (now generating ~$100 per month in net revenue) and SoundCloud Droid, as well as our SoundCloud API Java wrapper, which came out of the SoundCloud Droid app.
2009
Even though urbanSTEW informally started in 2008, our official kick-off year was 2009, being that that's the year we became a formally registered entity. In 2009 we also held the first urbanSTEW performance (Case Study), welcomed a seasoned performance work to the urbanSTEW family (Radio Healer), and saw our first software package gain significant adoption on the Android platform (Rehersal Assistant).
We were also helped by grants from the Entrepreneur Advantage Program, the performing arts venture experience, and the Arizona Commission on the Arts. Many thanks to all of our funders.
And finally, many thanks to all of you, for your help and support. And for listening to me ramble on :-)
