Thursday!
Jewish Sexual Ethics
Sept. 22
7:00 p.m.
Taught by Jan Rabinowitch!

Congregation Beth Israel
1972 NW Flanders

When it comes to sex, sin and sorcery, you can't beat Jewish texts. We'll start with the Genesis texts that caused later Jewish thinkers to question the gender of the first human being and to speculate on Adam's sex life, read a midrash about his "other wife", and study a sampling of later rabbinic comments on the nature of women before turning to contemporary mystical writings on the spirituality of the male-female sexual relationship.

Pre-High Holidays Service Project

Do you want to enter into the  Rosh Hashanah period by tangibly helping to build social justice in our Portland area?

Do you want to learn or expand your building skills?

Do you want to hear from the local Latino farmworker community about the issues with which they're struggling and explore what Judaism has to offer on the matters?

Do you want to meet other young Jewish adults interested in these issues?
