Portland Young Adult Shabbat December Services Don't let the cold, wet, dreary weather keep you away from our amazing services!  Come lift your spirits by hanging out and enjoying the lights of Shabbat with your fellow Jewish young adults! :) December Services Each month, one service will be highlighted as the "Spotlight Shabbat" (this month it is Havurah Shalom's service on the 3rd week of December).  Be sure to come and check out this service, as it promises to be something unique and super special.  You won't want to miss it! For information: jnd...@gmail.com or 503-222-1069 Second Friday, December 9, 2011: Shaarie Torah Where:  Congregation Shaarie Torah (920 NW 25th Ave, Portland, OR 97229) at 7:00pm What:  Join the young adults of Congregation Shaarie Torah for a Kabbalat Shabbat service for Young Adults.  Services will be geared to all levels of learners so everyone will feel comfortable participating!  After the service we will have a Torah Study on the weekly Parashah and then head out to get desserts (location of the dessert place, TBD). Third Friday, December 16, 2011: Havurah Shalom's Hamishe Shabbes Where:The "Hamishe Shteeb" (2114 NE Multnomah St., Portland, OR 97232) at 6:30pm What:  Our December Shabbat gathering will focus on Sephardic, Mizrachi, and other non-Ashkenazi Jewish cultures.  We will explore new tunes and use prayers from Jews in many parts of the world, including Africa, Spain, and the Middle East.  Please bring Jewish food that doesn't have a European origin for the potluck!
