It’s dangerous to wear a dead dress.

On a dark corner of the Lower East Side in 1923, young girls are disappearing in the night, only to have their dresses appear hanging in the air the next morning.  When Sabina goes to see a play about to be shut down on obscenity charges, she is drawn into the mysterious world of its performers.  A LIVE DRESS spins a tangled tale of subculture, desire and assimilation while bringing some of the Yiddish Theatre's most compelling voices center stage.

Join us for a cabaret-style staged reading of this new play and be part of the creative process!  The Brody Theatre has a full bar and dining available during the performance.

In conjunction with Portland’s Fertile Ground Festival of New Works
