Hi guys,

Come to services tonight and a Purim party tomorrow! And whatever you do have a great Purim!

Sarah

Come to Services at Hamishe Shteeb!
(From Jacob)

Hello friends,

We at the Hamishe Shteeb will be hosting a shabbat gathering with a vegetarian potluck dinner to follow this coming Friday March 18 at 6:30pm!
You are cordially invited, along with your friends, relatives and allies to join us for an evening of singing and eating.

This week, David Zenaty honors our community by leading this Friday evening service. It's his first time leading a shabbat service, so come out to support him!

Alfei Panim is Havurah's Young Adult service, a short reconstructionist service held at our home on the East Side of town.
The service will include lots and lots of singing.

RSVP if you know you are coming, so we know how many people to prepare the space for.

As always, all ages are welcome, while leading is reserved for those younger than 40.

Yours,
David

The Hamishe Shteeb is located at: 2114 NE Multnomah St., Portland, OR 97232
We are ten blocks east of the Lloyd Center MAX stop, near the corner of NE 21st and Multnomah.

Please don't bring wine or other alcohol, our home is drug/alcohol free.
Vegetarian potluck starts somewhere around 8:15pm. Many people are vegan or gluten free, so consider bringing something that is also vegan or gluten free.
Bentsching (singing blessings after food) from after dinner to as late as we want.

Come when you want, stick around as long as you like, let us know if you want a place to stay in the neighborhood.

And a Moishe House Purim Party:

Our sages say that Purim is holier than Yom Kippur; they cite that as the Jews were on the fringe of destruction we attained the highest level of faith toward Hashem. Purim represents our ability to remain unfazed in the face of Haman. That's why me mock him and eat his goofy hat, and chuck darts at his face (WE WILL DO SO SATURDAY); as well as drink responsibly, responsibly drink, and drink as responsibly as possible. Did I mention drink (RESPONSIBLY). So if you have it in you (BIGGEST PARTY OF THE YEAR) and have some extra time (BE THERE OR BE NOWHERE) than consider it a date with every Jew in your demographic pool here in the Silicon Woods, at the Moishe House, Satruday night -- Megillah reading begins at 9pm -- (REALLY, NOT COMING: DON'T BE A LOSER). Okay, see you then. And also your friend.

P.S. Cute new boy now lives at the Moishe House -- kind of like a Romanian Jewish version of Brad Pitt, with curly hair :).
