We’re fortunate that we didn’t have flooding in the garage area yesterday. I’m gonna move a few loads today and hope others  Can  Help move it soon

It's unfortunate this is where the mulch was placed, but I did have one eye on it and made sure to clear the drain nearby for interior overflow

This is where our malt is always delivered soThanks for making sure that the other drain was clear. I’m sure it helped that the rain came Intermittently so it wasn’t overloaded.
In Hindsight I believe we should have some protocols for accepting mulch. Some of my thoughts are
  • Ask what type of vegetation is included in the mulch. In the past we have refused More flammable material such as pine. This load was eucalyptus with a lot of leaves. Very flammable
  • Have a sense of Mulch moving capacity. This was delivered during the hottest week of the year, so People were understandably reluctant to exert themselves in the heat.
  • Put a smaller covering over the grate. It is very hard to shovel mulch Off of material that bunches up.

Thank you Carol that is precisely what I am proposing is a change in the place where we put mulch to be between the drains that are in the back that we know we need clear for drainage. Please see the attached diagram.
