Ingredients For Green Apple Chutney Recipe

  • Green Apples
  • 1 cupSugar
  • 1/2 cupVinegar
  • 1 teaspoonGrated Ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoonGround Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoonGround Cloves

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Peel, core, and chop the green apples.
  • STEP 2.In a saucepan, combine the chopped apples, sugar, vinegar, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.
  • STEP 3.Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  • STEP 4.Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30-40 minutes, or until the apples are soft and the chutney has thickened.
  • STEP 5.Remove from heat and let it cool completely.
  • STEP 6.Transfer the chutney to a jar and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
  • STEP 7.Serve the Green Apple Chutney as a condiment with sandwiches, grilled meats, or cheese platters.

Cooking Tips

  • You can adjust the amount of sugar according to your taste preference.
  • For a spicier chutney, add a pinch of red chili flakes or a chopped green chili.
  • The chutney will thicken further as it cools, so don't overcook it.

Storage And Serving

  • Store the Green Apple Chutney in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
