Hello out there!
We're starting a small truck-share! Shelly recently bought an '87 Toyota pickup, 4 cylinder, with only about 120,000 miles for $1200. A trusted mechanic checked it out and gave it the thumbs up. Shelly's partner James has done some tuning up on it, and there's a couple other small repairs, which he'll be able to do.
We're looking for 6 total owners. Right now Shelly, James, and I are going to be owners. Food Not Bombs is considering it. There's one or two other potentials out there. So at this point we've still got a couple openings. Interested? Below are the draft agreements for the truck-share.
Buy in is expected to be about $450. That will cover a share of the purchase cost, an initial $100 to the expenses fund, and a share of the maintenance expenses to date.
As you'll notice there is also an option for "occasional use." Let me know if you're interested in that as well.

Truck Share Agreements
Usage tracking:
A log book will be kept in the truck to track miles. Each owner will have a column. There will also be a column for occassional users.
Fees:
Owners - Yearly fee of $100
Occasional users - Per mile fee of $0.40/mi.
These fees will go into the expenses fund.
Occassional users are expected to pay for their use when they use it.
Expenses:
All expenses except gas are paid for from the expenses fund. If expenses exceed available funds the owners cover the excess expenses proportional to their usage.
Gas:
Top it off after each use.
Scheduling:
Sky will create an online calender for scheduling. Anyone can call Sky or James to reserve the truck if you don't have access to a computer. They'll add it to the calendar if they're in front of a computer
Distance limit:
50 mile radius from C'ville.
Location:
The default place to leave the truck is at James's house on 6 1/2 St. People can always work out another drop-off/pick-up location with each other.
Maintenance:
James will be maintenance coordinator. Any work that he or anyone else can do instead of going to a mechanic will be compensated out of the expenses fund at a rate of $15/hr.
Accounting:
Sky will be the accountant, keeping track of expenses and income as well as dealing with money.
