Tuesday August 10: Restoration Tour - The Community Restoration Campaign
7PM at Quest Books (619 Main St.)
"What if artists, community activists, former prisoners, prisoners, family members, and justice groups worked together using cutting edge web tools and street smart organizing? With your help we want to answer that question with the Community Restoration Campaign.At the heart of the campaign is Earned Second Chances and reevaluating Virginia's No Parole system. With your help we will create a new, forward-thinking public policy focused on Community Restoration."

Thursday August 12: Coal Country - Documentary about Mountain Top Removal in West Virginia
7:30 PM The Jefferson $5
"On Thursday, August 12, join Appalachian Voices in Charlottesville, Va., at a special $5 screening of the poignant documentary, Coal Country, which tells the story of Appalachia's struggle with the use of coal through the eyes of residents and miners. Director Mari-Lynn Evans and activists featured in the film will make a special appearance at the Jefferson Theater screening -- be sure to meet them during the public reception and special entertainment following the movie. Proceeds will benefit Appalachian Voices.
