Hi everybody,
sorry for all of the e-mails, hope you all will consider lending a hand this coming, Friday 1/28, in opposing the long list of anti-immigrant bills in the House of Delegates
"Special Sub-Committee on Immigration".
They will be meeting and hearing on many of the bills in that committee, it is very important that as many people from around the state can be there.
Here is a
list of the bills in that committee, as you can see, they are extremely vicious.
This week the state senate killed SB 789 in committee, thanks to a massive influx of calls and e-mails over the weekend to Commerce and Labor Committee members. This a positive sign that we can win this, but it's going to take work, and the house of delegates is a little harder to convince.
That said, the more we chip away at them, even if just a few bills get killed, the more likely the house as a whole will defeat them or the senate will kill them when crossover happens.
So far the sub-committee is set to meet at 12:30 pm on 1/28, anyone with the time to travel to Richmond please consider doing so, and drop me a line as soon as possible to straighten out details.
Thanks for your concern and patience!
Brandon
