The University of Michigan School of Information (UMSI) is seeking a few additional client-based data analysis project ideas for SI 405/485- Information Analytics Capstone. In the Information Analytics Capstone, advanced undergraduate students deliver data-oriented solutions at no cost to organizations. Deliverables will vary by project and be based on the client needs and project scope. Examples may include data analysis, visualizations, new datasets, data analysis strategy, additions to existing datasets, and other negotiated deliverables. As a client, you will also be making a positive impact on the next generation of information leaders by providing students with unique and practical learning experiences!
Capstone projects span the entire academic year. In the fall semester
(September-December), students are matched with clients, engage in
project scoping, and gain access to the datasets and systems involved in
the project in SI 405. In the winter semester (January-April), students
will analyze data and develop deliverables in SI 485. "UMSI students advance wildlife research with motion-sensor camera data" is one example of a project produced in this course.
Submit your project idea(s) for consideration as soon as possible but no later than Friday, August 9 by completing this form. Contact the UMSI Client Engagement Team at umsi.client...@umich.edu or reply to this email with any questions.
