2024 APDU Data Storytelling Awards: Call for Visualizations
The Association of Public Data Users (APDU) is pleased to announce the 2024 Data Storytelling Awards. We are soliciting creative and meaningful stories driven by publicly available
data (for example, data from the Census Bureau or Bureau of Labor Statistics) that blend numbers, narrative, and graphics.
About the Award
APDU’s Data Storytelling Awards emphasize the importance of storytelling to communicate trends and insights to a variety of audiences, making data more accessible for community members
and decision makers.
APDU welcomes submissions that highlight the use of public data from:
-
Federal, State, and Local Government
-
Non-profit and research organizations, including academic institutions
-
Private sector firms, consultancies, and advocacy groups
Important Reminders:
An
APDU committee will select five entries to highlight at the 2024 APDU Annual Conference on July 24, 2024, in Washington, DC. The finalists selected to participate at the Annual Conference will
receive a discounted registration (free for students or $95 off for non-students). Finalists who are students in undergraduate or graduate programs will also receive a free APDU membership for 2025.
Submissions must have been created after January 1, 2023. The entries nominated
for presentation at the Annual Conference will be eligible for the Best Storytelling Award. Registration and attendance at the conference is not required. APDU will share the award at the Annual Conference, as well as other forms of communications including
