Greetings—

WorkRise is pleased to announce our 2021 Request for Proposals (RFP) is now open for submissions. WorkRise will invest up to $2.5 million to support rigorous research that advances knowledge on strengthening economic well-being and accelerating economic mobility for workers earning low wages, particularly workers of color and others who have been disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 economic crisis. WorkRise aims to fund research projects that generate high-quality, actionable evidence on:

  • Challenges to mobility faced by economically vulnerable workers
  • Solutions—programs, policies, and practices—that create pathways for economic security and mobility
  • Pilots implemented by an employer, worker advocacy organization, or service provider aimed at boosting worker mobility.

WorkRise welcomes submissions from researchers as well as practitioners (employers, advocates, government agencies, and service providers) who have an established partnership or seek a partnership with a research evaluation team. WorkRise strongly encourages submissions from researchers from underrepresented backgrounds or those based at Minority-Serving Institutions. WorkRise will favorably consider applications from teams that are diverse across multiple dimensions (demographics, geography, academic discipline, and career stage).

The deadline to submit a Letter of Inquiry is June 27, 2021, 11:59 pm.

Please visit our website to review the RFP guidelines and submit your Letter of Inquiry (LOI). Please note you will need to create an account in the WorkRise grantee portal to submit your LOI. We also invite you to attend a May 26 webinar at 2:00 pm EDT to learn more about the WorkRise 2021 RFP.

Sincerely,
