Sharing good data news from Linked In from NHGIS..,,

 

Some big news for those who struggle with boundary changes in U.S. census data... NHGIS recently released a broad update to the IPUMS NHGIS geographic crosswalks, filling out our collection to enable more flexible, high-quality linkages of 1990-2022 data using consistent geography.

Updates include:
* New crosswalks from tracts to tracts and from blocks to larger areas for 1990-2020 census geographies
* Extensions to 2000 crosswalks to include Puerto Rico
* A broader set of interpolation weights including separate weights for owner- and renter-occupied units
* Standardized naming, formats, and documentation for all crosswalks
