Urban and NNIP researchers find disproportionate eviction filings in Cleveland
The Urban Institute collaborated with NNIP Partner Case Western Reserve University to test innovative imputation methods to predict the race and ethnicity and gender of people in eviction cases. Black and female tenants were more likely to face eviction filings.
NNIP provides evidence for value of American Community Survey data
NNIP codirectors submitted a public comment letter to the US Census Bureau about the value of American Community Survey data, drawing from local NNIP members’ and Urban’s research.
This American Evaluation Association blog post shares tips and resources on how evaluators can return data and findings to the community, with examples from NNIP members and other local groups.
NNIP survey shows gains in staff diversity at partner organizations
The share of people of color for all partner staff increased from 37.0 percent in 2018 to 47.7 percent in 2023. Having partner staff that reflect their communities’ diversity improves the quality of their services.
NNIP is thrilled to have Sarah Eisele-Dyrli of the Connecticut Data Collaborative (Hartford) and Lee Guekguezian of the Center for Urban and Regional Affairs (Minneapolis–St. Paul) elected to the executive committee to guide the network’s direction.
DataHaven is part of a team that was awarded an EPA Community Change Grant to help disadvantaged communities address environmental and climate justice. DataHaven will build data capacity and evaluate the local program.
Boston Indicators and the Institute for New England Native American Studies partnered to examine policy-driven wealth disparities within Native communities, provide socioeconomic data, and share insights from Native families on land, financial stability, housing, and education.
