Hello,

Firstly, I would like to thank you for this great toolbox. I'm really exited to see all the possibilities it provides for urban analysis and the ways it can be used to explain the logic behind the structure of a city and the locations of different functions in it.

I've made some test runs with the toolbox and it seems to complete the script and displays results. However, when I examine the results, there always seems to be one problem: result values of Reach and Gravity index columns for each building point are equal even though I've defined the beta value for gravity computations (my impedance attribute is in meters so I've used the corresponding beta value of 0.00217).  I've noticed that if the beta value is less than 1, then the value in the beta field automatically changes to 0 when other fields (for example "Output File Name") are to be filled. Is this perhaps the root of my problem (equal values for reach and gravity)?

Below you'll find two images attached. First picture is about the variables I've used in my analysis and on the second picture you'll see the script window after completing the task (and returning equal values for Reach and Gravity).

Hi,

Since you seem to be in Finland, this might result from the Windows' regional settings of your keyboard, where decimal point numbers are described with a comma instead of point. Could you try using 0,00217 instead of 0.00217?

If that is the problem, then it should also be possible to alter the settings under control panel --> region and language --> additional settings --> look for decimal symbol.

Best,

Andres

Hi,

Thanks for your quick answer! Altering the settings seems to do the trick!

By the way, are there beta values for other means of travel (bicycle, car) to be found from somewhere?

Thanks again,
Eero
