And consult with them in ways that are best and most gracious."

[85] Surah Al-Buruj [The Big Stars]

Ayat 8. They had nothing against them, except that they believed in Allah, the All-Mighty, Worthy of all Praise!

Ayat 9. Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything.

Ayat 10. Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to Allah), will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire.

Tafseer of Surah Al-Buruj Ayat 8 to 10. Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. It is suggested that the persecutors will richly deserve to be punished in the Fire of Hell. That Punishment will be far more real and lasting than the undeserved cruelty which they inflicted on men for their Faith in the One True God. 10. Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire. The "Penalty of the Burning Fire" has been mentioned here in addition to the "Penalty of Hell". This assumes a special significance in the background of the cruel burning of the Faithful by the "makers of the pit". These criminals would be duly retributed by being subjected to a similar kind of suffering that they had caused their innocent victims.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Talha bin Ubaidullah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: At the sight of the new moon (of the lunar month), the Messenger of Allah image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) used to supplicate: "Allahumma ahillahu `alaina bil-amni wal-iman, was-salamati wal-Islam, Rabbi wa Rabbuk-Allah, Hilalu rushdin wa khairin (O Allah, let this moon appear on us with security and Iman; with safety and Islam. (O moon!) Your Rubb and mine is Allah. May this moon be bringing guidance and good).''

[At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 3451].

Lesson : After sighting the moon, one should recite the prayer which was recited by the Prophet image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH). The prayer cited in the text of this Hadith is one of them.
