Hi all!
I hope your semester is going well. I wanted to share with you a very important opportunity. I have personally taken advantage of it from a different organization and I hope that some of you will take advantage of it. It is FREE and totally worth it even if you are scared of blood draws.
Happy Holidays to those who celebrate and enjoy your Spring!
Best Wishes from Buenos Aires,
Danielle

Jewish Renaissance Project Hosting Jewish Genetic Testing

Don't miss out on the chance of the lifetime. Get tested this April 20th.

On April 20th the Jewish Renaissance Project (JRP) will be hosting the Victor Center for Jewish Genetic Diseases. The Victor Center will be administering free genetic tests for Jewish students on campus. Jews with an Ashkenazi background (One or more grandparent) are very likely to be carrying certain recessive genetic disorders including Bloom Syndrom, Cystic Fibrosis, and Tay-Sachs disease. In fact, According to the center's estimate, 1 in 5 Ashkenazi Jews are carriers for one of these diseases.

In order to sign up for this event go to marylandscreening.eventbrite.com.

The tests are usually very expensive and it is a really a special opportunity that the Victor Center has agreed to administer so many free tests on campus. Below is a link to their website that will provide more background information on the organization, the genetic diseases that they test for, and the importance of Jewish genetic testing.
