DC. Please note that the D.C. event has been postponed until Tuesday, July 7, same place, same time. The NYC event will still take place July 1 as originally scheduled.

New to Washington? Interested in discussing current events in the Middle East? Wanna schmooze with progressive folks like you who are interested in a new way forward for the Middle East? Well you're in luck, because J Street is hosting its first Summer Interns Happy Hour!

WHO ARE WE? - J Street is the political arm of the pro-Israel,
pro-peace movement. J Street was founded to promote meaningful American
leadership to end the Arab-Israeli and Palestinian-Israeli conflicts
peacefully and diplomatically.
* Daniel Levy is a Senior Fellow and Co-Director of the Middle East Task Force at the New America Foundation and a Senior Fellow and Director of the Prospects for Peace Initiative at The Century Foundation. During the Barak Government, he worked in the Israeli Prime Minister's Office as special adviser and head of Jerusalem Affairs, following which Mr. Levy worked as senior policy adviser to then Israeli Minister of Justice, Yossi Beilin. Mr. Levy was a member of the official Israeli delegation to the Taba negotiations with the Palestinians in January 2001, and previously served on the Israeli negotiating team to the "Oslo B" Agreement from May to September 1995, under Prime Minister Rabin. He also served as the lead Israeli drafter of the Geneva Initiative, a joint Israeli-Palestinian effort that suggests a detailed model for a peace agreement to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

to New York City? Interested in discussing current events in the Middle
East? Wanna chat about the Iranian election and Obama and Netanyahu's
recent speeches, but haven't found too many like-minded folks with whom
to schmooze? Well you're in luck, because the UPZ (the Union of
Progressive Zionists), a new member of the J Street family, is hosting
"Change ME - A discussion on how to enact change in the Middle East." FREE SNACKS will be provided.
WHAT'S
UP? - A get-together where you can discuss recent events in the Middle
East and learn how J Street, UPZ and the other members of the
Pro-Israel, Pro-Peace movement are working hard for a two-state
solution.
