Please take a moment to read this email fully. This message concerns vehicle traffic in and through our neighborhoods. Evidently, there is a new process passed by the City Council to help neighborhoods mitigate the negative aspects of it. Read more here:

For example, we know and probably already feel, northbound streets will receive additional traffic once Bryant Ave S is reconstructed for southbound traffic. Perhaps we can have an impact on how that traffic flows by requesting traffic calming measures. Please take a moment to fill out an application by or before the due date, November 1, 2022. The application is a simple on-line form (link directly below).

Subject: Traffic calming (speed bumps, etc)

Hey All,
I just found out tonight from our new council member that the city has changed the process for getting traffic calming measures since they did a study and found out that speed bumps in the city are largely in wealthy neighborhoods as it was residents who had to pay for them. Now, they are taking applications and have set aside 100K to help rectify this imbalance. The requirement to get 75% of home owners to sign off on any change has also been eliminated. I'm not 100% clear on how final decisions are going to be made, but CM Chugtai encouraged us to have as many folks as possible fill out forms for traffic calming. It takes 5-10 minutes max. Let me know if you have other questions and please share!!!  https://www2.minneapolismn.gov/government/departments/public-works/traffic-parking-services/traffic-calming/

Thanks, Holly. I added a submission for 32 and Hennepin.

It is so nice having La La and Black Walnut there but the crossing is treacherous!
