Some ice boaters and some hang glider pilots are meeting up at Rose Valley Lake not far from Trout Run PA.
We are meeting mid morning Sunday Jan 26...and hope for some riding boats on skates...and possibly some hand towing of hang gliders.
The wind is to be 13mph west / west north west. And 34 degrees!
I live 6 miles or so from the lake. People are welcome to stop by afterwards for pizza, hot dogs, beer etc. And a warm fire! 🔥
The ice boat guys are meeting at the East Boat Dock/Launch at 9am to start setting up their craft...they require some setting up like hang gliders. I'm going to take a few gliders. One single surface tandem glider and a couple older double surface ones.
I'll have a couple harnesses for HG.
Bring your own wings and harnesses...
I have some stuff you can use if it fits.

Here is a video of some the icecapades on Sunday...a failed attempt at hand towing...but a good time had...the beer was cold afterwards...probably almost frozen but the fire was hot!
Another video is in the works of the plan B... towing up with a winch over the lake...
This was all experimental so we learned some things in the process!

Bob, it did happen and there are some pix and videos coming.
I'm trying to compile some footage for a YouTube video...started on it today.
It was fun on the lake. It didn't totally turn out as expected. I suspect some of us are still recovering from yesterday's over excessive behavior :)
About 2am I was reminded I'm not 20 anymore with hellish charlie horse leg cramps...get up quick and jump around ouching was the only way out!

Hi, I've been working on that as a separate video with some ice boating action. I'll post it later tonight.
This is a hodgepodge of lots of footage so it is hard to tell the story but whittle it down to a reasonable length...
