What: Meet and Greet the new Student Organic Farm Manager

When: Thursday, February 10th, 5:00 - 6:30 PM

Where: Clemson Unitarian Universalist Church, 230 Pendleton Road, Clemson (Get directions)

Greetings Friends and Supporters of the Student Organic Farm,

There is a great deal of excitement building these days in the Sustainable Agriculture Program; home of the Student Organic Farm project.  As friends and supporters of the Student Organic Farm, we wanted to give you an opportunity to share in our excitement and hear more about what is happing with the SOF.

We would like to introduce to you our new Student Organic Farm Manager, Shawn Jadrnicek.  Shawn has come to us from an established background in permaculture, organic farming, nursery production, landscape design and installation, arboriculture, irrigation system design/installation and aquaculture.  In November of 2010 Shawn hit the ground running at the Student Organic Farm and hasn’t stopped since as he prepares for the upcoming growing season and beyond.  As I write, newly installed electrical and plumbing work is being inspected in advance of the construction of a new greenhouse and wash stations at the farm.  His innovative ideas and inspired vision for the farm is what has us all very excited about the prospect of things to come at the SOF.

Please come and meet Shawn and welcome him to the program on Thursday, February 10th 2011 from 5-6:30 at the Clemson Unitarian Universalist Church and hear more about what he has been up to and has planned.    He will make a short presentation at 5:30 and there will be time for questions afterwards.  Snacks and beverages will be provided.

Once again I’d like to thank you for your continued support for the Student Organic Farm project.

Please RSVP if you plan to attend.  We hope to see you on the 10th

All the very best,

Kelly

P.S. Questions regarding remaining vouchers from last season’s Produce Voucher Program will be addressed at this meeting.  A separate email regarding this program will also be sent out.  Thanks again!
