I would like to know what type of scale used for messaring length,
width, height (in ft. or inch, or cms) and what type of scale used for
weight (kgs, or pounds)

Probably wouldn't use a scale to find the size. Maybe Mark can answer
this, but don't you have to buy a specific scale from UPS that they
certify as accurate?

Usually shippers only carry a few different shipper boxes where the dimensions are known. UPS provides a scale for anyone with a daily pickup. Although you can use any scale you want, I would advise against it as you could incur extra charges for invalid weights.
