Sometimes for 2 or 3 (or more) times it will ask me if I'm ok with letting it install dependencies (cant remember the exact windows message) , each time I chose NO and close the program from the task bar, then open it again.
i don't know, you could try to register komplete start, it also has kontakt player inside. Normally it should work on windows 8 too, but without technical support. Additionally i would highly recommend to upgrade to windows 10, you can go back if something does not work, best of course would be a backup. -instruments.com/en/products/komplete/bundles/komplete-start/
I've had kontakt before on a other computer with windows 10 and Ableton Live 10 and have had similar issues but resolved them. Now I got a new computer with windows 11 and Ableton Live 11 and kontakt stand-alone crashes every time I open it. Kontakt doesn't show up in plugins either. I've un/re installed multiple times and restarted my computer multiple times. I have all my plugins on my D-Drive (since it has more space) and made custom kontakt folders. I've also tried installing everything to default and switching my plugins folder on Live 11 to kontakts defualt "VSTPlugins 64 bit" Folder, but the stand alone still crashes and kontakt sill doesn't show up in my plugins. I really don't know what to do, I have been trying to fix this for hours.
Next Follow step one on this support, but you wont open kontakt because its gone, just delete the folder. I went ahead and deleted the entire "Native Instruments" Folder, I would recommend doing that:
I just went back to windows 10 (Wiped My PC) and tried installing everything again, still crashes and still wont show up in my plugins. At this point I really don't know what to do and really need help. I have the ASIO drivers from the focusrite. I've tried other drivers on kontakt but it still crashes
So I just installed Kontakt 6.7.1 and when I open it and have to choose audio, no matter what I choose the sound in windows gets fucked up! Just an awful noise. Then when I try to close Kontakt it crashes and the windows sound is still fucked, no matter what I play so I have to reboot my computer. How do I fix this? I want to use Kontakt in FL Studio 20.
I rejoiced when I found this answer (and the other thread explaining it in more detail), however after setting it up on my mac and my colleague's windows machine, we're still having the same issue of Kontakt searching for samples in the wrong place. We have a decent size template with many Kontakt instrument tracks, some which are disabled, and our file structure is the same on both computers (two drives of samples, and a kontakt user library folder with symlinks). When loading a project coming from the other computer, we get the "State of some Kontakt instances cannot be resolved" error consistently on several different libraries...is there a way to troubleshoot these since it's always the same samples every time?
Still having this issue, even on sessions with no disabled tracks. I've double checked that the library drives match exactly, and Kontakt is using an identical folder full of symlinks on both the Mac and Windows machines. After loading up a new session from the other computer, Kontakt seems to be searching for the samples in the wrong place rather than the non-Player content folder...either the path of the original sample drive or the path of the non-Player content folder on the other machine (since it's windows and mac I won't be able to make this path exactly the same). The relative paths checkbox is enabled.
Now they made some libraries (eg. Session Guitarist) not working anymore in Kontakt 6 (here's a thread -instruments.com/discussion/17039/previous-versions-of-recently-updated-kontakt-libraries-compatibility-with-k6-older-libraries) and thus pushing us to use Kontakt 7.
Well, it is unfortunatly the only pro grade level sampler if you want to run pro grade level libraries such as Audiobro Modern Scoring Strings and Brass.
When I have let the windows world, I left Cubase and Spectrasonics with the pleasure to discover even better with Reaper and U-He synth.
But as for Kontakt, I have to admit that I can't do without it.
Kontakt was the final reason for me to switch to Linux as DAW OS.
Kontakt was is and will ever be very buggy.
Kontakt is the leading distribution platform for third party sample libraries.
Kontakt offers decryption of secured sample libraries.
that is the reason why there are many many users who are having serious troubles with kontakt and the installation of third party sample libraries.
What is the sample engine behind the Vienna orchestra sample library? not Kontakt, or?
I quite liked using the chain for the Kontakt windows, too - but have realised I can't do that now as only the Channel 1 track shows the Kontakt window - don't suppose you know a way around that...? I guess it's just a case of not using chain, but always opening the Kontakt plugin window from the channel strip, right?
When Logic starts getting sluggish.. I burn Kontakt instrument to a real audio track.. I make a channel strip the Kontakt instrument.. and give that name to the midi region.. i.e. I use initials for the .. (My Newest song) = MNS kontakt 8DIO Grand piano. You then have to reset the Kontakt library.. Merely turning it off doesn't release memory..
