Form your teams and register online for the race if you are racing.

Teams?

Yes! Not only is there a team competition, but it is a great way to
buddy up to share your knowledge of the lines and feel a little safer
out there.

Normal teams consist of 3 or 4 paddlers. Over the past couple of
years, the teams have fallen into 2 general categories:
"enthusiastically competitive" or "finishing is winning!" Those
determined to chase Tom downriver become "Mac's LAKS". Other
competitive teams become "LAKS ATTACKS 1, 2, 3" , etc. Then there are
the "ReLAKSers", "LAKSadaisicals" and others who are measuring the
experience by the fun-o-meter versus the chronometer. :-)

Our goals? First, and most important, is for all to be safe and
successfully in completely the race. Second is to make Liquid
Adventures Kayak School the largest group on the river --- we had 22
LAKS paddlers last year and hope to do even better this year. Third is
to push the "Mac's LAKS" team higher in the team rankings --- they
have been fifth the last two years. Calling all speed demons! :-)

The team thing is not real formal and we can sort it out on race day
when we get there. But it is a great idea to register for the race in
advance; you can list teammates if you have them. Looking forward to
having some fun --- and showing all those other racers the power of
LAKS!

I just can't quit without a few more possible team names:

"ExLAKS" - they've got smooth moves

"LAKS Fear" - fear is no factor for these racers...and "LAKS
Confidence" just didn't convey the right message ;-)

"Just the LAKS, ma'am" - really old Dragnet reference...sorry!

Enjoy!
