to Upper Michigan Worship
Hi there -- I am very interested in sharing thoughts and new ideas
about worship. Also I want to say that I thought our Presbytery
meeting was the best one in a long time! I loved the attention paid
to worship -- good preaching, good liturgy, music. I was glad to be
able to lead communion -- if I had it to do over I would add more
stations and switch the Taize song to another one at some point --
"Jesus, Remember Me." (One of our choir members told me on Sunday
that we sang "Eat This Bread" 45 times! By counting, I think he
missed the the prayer aspect of it, right? But, singing it half as
much and adding another song would have worked well, I think. I
really liked Saturday morning's worship with the team from Northern
Lakes leading, especially how they wove traditional hymns and praise
songs together. I think that might even fly in our traditional
service! Toby, I used your remarks about the book, 'Unchristian" in
my sermon the next day (crediting you of course!).
Anyway, I'm excited about blogging and what we can all learn. Steve,
I really like your idea of giving out bigger pieces of bread and then
sharing them.
Thank you Scott for getting these blogs going.
