Looking forward to our presbytery meeting this coming weekend. I am
offering (through the Stewardship and Mission Committee) a couple of
invitations which I'd hope we might discuss.

(1) Inviting churches to host an "Elder Gathering" for
congregations in their "region". Bringing together those who share
similar
areas of responsibilities- clerks, treasurers, pastors,
committee chairs. Spend 6 hours together on a Saturday. Reflect on
some
common goals/concerns.
A recent article in Presbyterian Outlook referred to the
Presbytery of San Diego and their focus on "mission and on
relationships."
That is the direction I hope we might be willing to go as a
presbytery.

(2) Elder Don Mead, member of the SAM Committee, is inviting the
members in his congregation to consider a generous gift to a ministry
or mission serving "the most needy" coming from the "gift"
we will be receiving from the government in May. I think it is a
great idea, and
wanted to share that with the presbytery.
