Having issues with my X Box One S connecting to X Box Live. All services are up and running; XB network settings showed connected to Internet, but cannot connect to XB Live Service. Per Microsoft, the port I need is 3074 plus the following:

I cannot find which ports are open on the Orbi router, so I cannot tell if they are open or not. Further, I have assigned static IPs to both the wired and wireless MAC addresses; so should I port-forward these ports? (When I tried setting up 3074 was told it was used by other services) This issue occurs both wired and wireless on the XB.

I would hold in the power button until it turns off. Then do a full reboot of the ISP modem and Orbi router. After it's all back to ready, power ON the xbox and check IP address and NAT status. IT should be OPEN in network settings an in a game.

Modem Combo Units:
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem leaving it in router mode and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. -do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and =H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop

I was having issues with Xbox live as well as streaming Netflix and Amazon Prime through the Xbox one. Disabling Port Scan and DoS protection fixed the issue for me. Log into the router settings through , then access Advanced->Setup->WAN Setup and check the box for "Disable Port Scan and DoS Protection".

I was trying to set up the router to give me the best connection for my 2 xbox 360's, PS3, etc.. Everything is connected wireless and I was wondering what are the best steps to take. Right now I am using the movie engine mode with the 360's ports set to top priority.

Also, when doing this(movie engine enabled) should I do this for each port or can I have it set to all(instead of each specified port) for each system and device? What about DMZ option as well? I'm using the 1.74 friendly firmware.

Here is the problem, I have both internet and phone service through my internet provider and sometimes when someone calls and I pick it up to talk for a bit, I lose all if not most of the internet in the house!

I have had the cable company come out a couple of times and check the connection and shorten up the connection, etc. I've swapped out the modem as well. I was wondering if setting up QoS would maybe help my solve my problem? I am portforwarding the xbox 360 ports and I have them in the movie engine as the top priority for one xbox and priority for another, is it overkill? Should I turn off the port forwarding? Since everything is wireless is the movie engine really the only thing I need?

The main devices I use are 2 xbox 360's, one ps3, one blu ray player that streams netflix, 2 laptops and 2 desktops. Everything is wireless with the exception of the one desktop(which is the least used) to which the modem and buffalo router is attached to.

I really only use the systems to play online and use netflix to stream, the computers are used for usually just basic web surfing.. So I don't know what the heck to do! I don't think it's the router but I figured I would try to set this up properly and see how it goes from there.

Up until yesterday I never had an issue connecting to xbox live. I've made no changes to my setup nor have I added any additional hardware to my home network. My xbox connects to the internet, but won't complete the connection to xbox live.

Same issue here. Verizon FIOS in Maryland. Neither mine (wired) or my daughters Xbox (wireless) will connect to XBL. I've rebooted the router, reset the router to factory settings, etc. On both Xbox's the network test has be as connected to the internet, but errors when connecting to XBL. May be unrelated (or not), but I can't seem to get to xbox.com from home either - it times out everytime. Working fine at work (where I'm posting from).

No, I haven't called them. I spent about an hour trying to figure it out on my own last night before calling it a night. I was just hoping it would resolve itself by the morning, but no luck there. I posted on the XBL forum as well and there appear to be a few other people having the same issue with FIOS.

To no surprise they claim there is no issue on their end and they do not monitor or prohibit any internet activity on their end so he concluded it must be xbox's servers. I informed him that I'm able to get on to their website at work but not at home and he still said it must be their servers.

Verizon has been having an issue for about 3 days now that I have noticed. They have been less than helpful, if you call they require you hook up their Actiontek router, which sucks; especially for XBL.

I live in Maryland (Baltimore) and just had FIOS installed last Friday. I just checked and I can connect wirelessly to XBOX live with no problems. I do know that in order for me to connect, I had to enable Wireless MAC authentication and add the MAC address to the Allowed List.

I don't have an Xbox so I can't see if XBL is down for Verizon in my area, though the Xbox forums and main site are loading up here. It sounds like a router somewhere is having an issue with a routing table or a link.

I'm having the save problem, also live in Maryland. I ran a tracert on xbox.com and it looks like I reach a Microsoft page (microsoft-gw.customer.alter.net) right before I start getting request time outs, so it might really be a problem with Xbox's servers. Has anyone contacted Xbox support yet?

microsoft-gw.customer.alter.net hops are the peering points between Microsoft's Network and Verizon's network. If that is as far as you are going in a trace, the problem is probably with a router or a link at that point then.

We are in NJ. We haven't hadd FIOS TV or Internet since Sunday, June 20! Each day we've been calling and first we had to be home for a service visit and now apparently there's a cut cable somewhere. It's June 25 now - 5 days without internet and TV is starting to get to us!

I contacted Xbox live support and went through the port forwarding and such, and he also suggested to try the Google DNS server, but no luck. I also live in Maryland and am glad that I'm not alone in this issue.

I recently purchased a pair of ASA 5550's to upgrade my home network since I have a Gig line but the 3900 I've been using as my boundary firewall throttles filtered traffic at about 150Mbps. I *thought* the 5550s would be very similar to routers--they are not (but that has been discussed to death, I learned). I got my first 5550 up and working correctly. All services run where they're supposed to (I still need to do some port mapping for my xbox live service, and I never did get PAT to work via ASDM I just had to go wing it in the command line), except for ONE. My Roku SmartTV can't stream any media, however a "connection test" shows that it is online and receiving packets (self-reported by the device). Here's the extra weird part: Netflix, HBO Go, and Amazon Prime (my 3 streaming services) all work flawlessly and FAST on every PC and Laptop, and the xbox, plugged into the network (I've tested on about 5 devices, all plugged into the same switch, VLAN, and subnet as the TV). It appears to ONLY effect the smart TV, but the smart TV is still online(?!). The Sharp/Roku website for network support is a joke, and I certainly can't find any information about the ports used by the apps--but everything I can find about Netflix says that 80 and 443 are all netflix uses, and I can't imagine it would be different for the SmartTV app? I've posted the running config below with sensitive data omitted. You'll see a bit of a cluster of network objects from when I was fighting with ASDM, but most of them are idle and just need to be deleted--they aren't effecting connectivity or even in use. You'll also see where I tried to whitelist the netflix domain, hoping that it was just a zone security issue, but that has not helped. For obvious reasons, I would like to run my entire LAN through the firewall and not have to route around the security appliance for my tv (or any other smart appliances that come online). I'm also open to any feedback on the config or what services I should set up next, as this is my first ASA and it's still highly experimental on my network. Thanks!

Per your instructions I ran an asp-drop capture. Sorry to say that just spits out the frames at the hex level, and didn't have especially useful information. After spinning through the frames I did a little research and solved the problem. I actually had to enable system logging and set the logging sensativity so that I could pull syslogs out of the buffer and compare the syslog codes to the index at:
