He always said it and I can still remember ‘brothers life is short. You live once and will pass thru in a time. So be content and live to the best’. Death is unpredictable and respect no-one. Although we all want to live on,,death is a reality.  Late Joe is truly an inspirational, great speaker & a leader. Words can’t tell this great loss. George S. Patton, Jr. once said and I quote “It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived”.

It is a surprise and shock as I could not believe this news.  We were classmates and good brothers in one in 2012  MBA classes. It is very sad to loose a good, vibrant, talented, socializing, outgoing person and modern time leader.

Subject: PASSING OF JOE R KANEKANE

 

My dear UPNG MBA Alumni members,

 

As we look forward for another week of work and life with our family and friends but not for Joe R Kanekane . I was told about 6.30pm that the sound and screaming of crying came just 2 houses away from me. I asked my wife for a walk to check only to be told Joe R Kanekane passed away.

 

Joe Roger Kanekane’ house is two houses away from my house at Rainbow Estate, Gerehu. Joe Roger Kanekane asked me to organize the PNG Media Council Golf Trade Day on Friday 9 August and for the last two weeks we were in close contact until Monday 8 July he took a private trip to Tabubil. I last spoke to him on Saturday 13^th July in Tabubil for the Golf Day. I waited all day on Sunday 14^th  and at 12.05pm I called and sms him to find out his return to Port Moresby but ..................only to be told the sad news around 6.30pm on Sunday (yesterday).

 

Joe Roger Kanekane passed away between the hours of 6pm to 6.30pm in Tabubil (Sunday)

 

I will keep you all posted of the flight that will bring Joe Roger Kanekane from Tabubil and request you all to show our respect when he gets in from Tabubil.
