Job Summary:

This position will serve as an academic advisor to the University pre-major (undeclared) students.

Essential Functions:

• Advise students on academic and related matters. Guide students in selection of courses, assist students in major exploration and selection, monitor progress of advisees towards the fulfillment of academic goals and requirements, maintain knowledge of academic programs, regulations and procedures, counsel students on academic probation.

• Serve on UAC committees and working groups.

• Position requires some evenings and weekend work during summer orientation. 

Education and Experience:

• A Bachelor's degree is required. A Master's degree is preferred. 
• A minimum of two years’ work experience in an academic setting or related experience is required.
• Some experience in academic advising, teaching, higher education, and/or counseling is highly desirable.
• Work experience in a four year traditional higher education environment is a plus.
