Description 

The Director of Education will partner externally and internally to create and execute the education strategy by building compelling ways to capture FOC’s educational impact and tracking impact, identifying opportunities to expand work, and identifying fellowships and leadership development opportunities.  They will work with the FOC team to identify school needs to improve academic outcomes and access to educational opportunities and design learning experiences for community events and convenings.   

Required Qualifications:   

• Passion for creating positive change in the Superblock. Alignment with our values of Courage, Liberation, Love, and Wisdom. 
• College degree or at least five years equivalent work experience.  
• Experience in community organizing/coalition building. 
• Expertise in working with youth and families. 

Preferred:  

• Resident or native of the Superblock within our targeted 75216 zip code Experience in cultivating partnerships with schools and other education agencies. 
• Conflict resolution and/or peacekeeping experience.  
• Experience with policy, advocacy, community organizing, and/or local politics and social change.
