The Broadcast Media Intern will (work remotely while schools remain closed):
Research and present viable options for equipment needed to produce a high quality podcast to include but not limited to: computer hardware, high quality microphones, high quality headphones, high quality web cameras, recording software, storage and server needs.
Record and edit video and audio to be used in podcast shows
Publish podcast segments
Outreach and coordinate scheduling to book contributors to participate in KTC podcasts
Maintain communications with KTC staff and advisors on resources available to support KIPPsters to and through college and career
Work with the Retention and Completion Specialists, Transition Specialist and the Career team to gain access to resources and engagement opportunities for KIPP alumni
Interview KIPP alumni to identify issues and initiatives most that are of highest importance in their lives
Collect, record, and interpret engagement data for content produced through podcast, newsletters, Instagram, and other KTC social platforms.
Provide perspective on challenges and advantages of transitioning into life post-high school and accomplishing goals as an 18-24 year old
Qualifications
An interest in live broadcast production essential
Knowledge of video and editing software such as Final Cut Pro, Articulate
Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite programs or similar creative publishing and editing software
Working knowledge of Mac, Google Drive, and Microsoft Office
Extreme interest and passion about online video, especially YouTube
Willingness to go above and beyond to provide great work
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
